Seulgee Cho Violin Viola Teacher Vienna Music Institute

Beginning her musical journey on the violin at the age of seven, Seulgee Cho later expanded her focus to the viola at twelve. She graduated from Gyewon Arts High School in Korea and continued her studies in Viola Performance at Biola University in La Mirada, where she cultivated a strong foundation in string technique and musicianship applicable to both violin and viola.
As a performer, Cho has been active in both Korea and the United States. In Korea, she performed with the Yongin Philharmonic Orchestra, and in the U.S. she served as Principal Violist of the Biola Symphony Orchestra and the California State University of Long Beach Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed with ensembles such as the Biola String Quartet, the University String Quartet, and the American Youth Symphony. Her musical activities include orchestral concerts and festival appearances in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Malaysia, contributing to a broad ensemble perspective and a deep appreciation for collaborative music-making.
In addition to her performance career, Cho has received recognition in multiple national music competitions in Korea and has participated in programs including the Montecito Music Festival in the United States and the Korean Chamber Orchestra Music Festival. Her principal teachers include Erik Rynearson, Ken Aiso, Jason Bonham, and Suzy Eunwon Lee, among others.
A dedicated educator, Cho teaches both violin and viola to students from childhood through high school. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes strong fundamentals, clear technique, and thoughtful musicianship. By encouraging students to reflect on their practice, develop effective problem-solving skills, and build musical independence, she helps them gain confidence, precision, and a meaningful connection to music.
